National Curriculum and the Early Years Foundation Stage

All of our role play rooms have been developed in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage, and have links to the National Curriculum.

At iTown we are lucky enough to be supported by a published expert in children's play, who has helped design each area of iTown to support early learning.

Lighting and Audio

We have some lovely lasers and flashing lights which may strobe from time to time. 

If this effects you then please speak to a member of the team, who will show you the best places to play and learn which are minimally effected. 

Most of the time there will be no music or audio to support the communication development of young children.  However, you will hear songs to signpost the beginning and ending of each session.

Specific events such as a parties, mini-discos, or our Princess & Superhero sessions, will include music.

Props, Costumes and Toys

To support your child's development, we have provided quality props, costumes and toys to enhance the iTown experience.

Feel free to play with these and try on the costumes. 

We politely ask that you help tidy up towards the end of the session when you hear the Tidy Up Song, and leave the toys with us for the next child to enjoy.

Some of our props, costumes and toys are available to purchase.  So should your child fall in love with something particular, just ask a member of our team about purchasing options.

iTown Areas

Each fabulous area of iTown is specifically designed to enhance the playful engagement of your child. 

Try on new costumes, become a pirate or police officer, save a zoo animal's life at the vets, and enjoy picking produce from the farm to sell in the farm shop.  We have many areas within iTown for the little ones to dress up, act and learn about the different everyday things we do as grown-ups.

Remember - play is good for us - at any age - so don't hold back - feel free to get involved!

Booking a party? We have a private party room where you can enjoy cake and sing Happy Birthday!

Parking

Parking is free on some of the surrounding streets if you are lucky to find a space but please be warned it can become very limited during busy times.

We personally use the pay and display carparks conveniently scattered around Newton Abbot Town Centre.

There is some parking on Queens Street, or Cricketfield Road Car Park (see pay and display machines for costings).

Serving tasty snacks, bakes, sandwiches, toddler menu, hot & cold drinks, and seasonal influences from the moment you enter your session.
